At RWS Group I work part-time and remotely as an IP Researcher, doing patent searches and prior art research for clients in different technology areas.
My background in electronics, IoT and telecommunications helps when assessing whether an invention is new and finding the prior art that matters for a patent application.
Role & responsibilities
- Patent searches across global patent databases
- Prior art research to assess novelty and patentability
- Search reports summarising what was found
- Reviewing technical disclosures in electronics, IoT and telecommunications
Outcomes
- Search reports that fed into patent filing decisions
- Working knowledge of the major patent search tools and databases
