What this site collects

This is a personal portfolio. The only information it collects is what you type into the contact form: your name, email address and message. When you submit it, the site also records your IP address and browser user-agent string to help prevent abuse.

How it is used

Your message is emailed to Stephen Ng'iru and stored so it can be read and replied to. It is never sold or shared with third parties, and it is not used for marketing.

Cookies

A single session cookie is set to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Your light / dark theme choice is kept in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. There is no third-party tracking anywhere on this site.

Analytics

Page views are counted on this server so Stephen can see how the site is doing — nothing is sent to any other company, and no cookie is set for it. Each view records the page, the device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), and the referring site’s domain, if there was one. To tell a new visitor from a repeat page load on the same day, a one-way fingerprint is generated from your IP address, browser and the date, and only that fingerprint is stored, never the IP address or browser string themselves. It changes every day and can’t be used to identify you or follow you across visits. Sending a DNT: 1 header turns this off for you entirely.
